Welcome back everyone! I hope you all managed to enjoy some
time off as a family. Personally, it’s nice to start the term from week one.
Term 3 is quite busy, with Exhibition, ArtSpaces and Book
Week. Just a small timetable change
with Tech for the Year 6s now on Tuesday, which will allow for greater organisation
on Mondays.
The Year 5 Inquiry is (Where We Are in Place and Time) an
Inquiry into orientation in place and time; personal histories; homes and
journeys; the discoveries, explorations and migrations of humankind; the
relationship between and the interconnectedness of individuals and
civilizations, from local and global perspectives. I will negotiate with the Year 5s to come up
with an agreed Central Idea.
The Year 6 Inquiry is Exhibition. Over the holidays the boys should have
completed, or are completing, an A3 drawing or writing about 2060. It should consider a range of areas such as
transport, food production, the environment, housing, energy, communication,
employment, etc.
